The Doctor and His Assistant

The Doctor and his assistant....A navy vest lined with baby blue and a sting tie....A grey cordouroy vest lined in the same baby blue as the doctor's vest.  You can't really see, but the button holes on the assistants vest are horrendous.  I did them manually on my machine and they are all crooked.  For Mother's Day, I received a new machine that had 5 automatic button holes!  All the other button holes for the production were gorgeous!  :)

Pony Expresso

This year the home school co-op picked a melodrama, The Pony Expresso, as the play they would perform.  When I started the process of picking costumes, I didn't need historical accuracy.  Patterns that gave the feel of the Old West and Pioneer days were chosen.

The fabrics were picked so that they would coordinate well when all the actors were on stage.

Red Queen-White Queen.

My daughter picked the patterns for these.  Unfortunately, they weren't modest enough for the girls and so I had to create the top.  This is also the first time that I had sewed any of this prom dress type fabric.  It took some getting used to.
